Who said tapering can’t still be fun!? 🤪
Going into the final two weeks now leading up to manchestermarathon and I’m feeling really good about how my training has gone! 😃
Tonight’s run was about testing out my marathon race pace and it genuinely could not have gone any better 😍
10 x 0.5 Mile efforts with 0.5 Mile recovery 🔥
Comfortably averaging 5:40min/min on the efforts and it was the best that I’ve felt running at that pace! I really did feel in total control and this was just the session I needed to give me that extra belief that I can chase a PB in Manchester! 👊
Yesterdays run however was quite the opposite 🙌 A nice chilled out 10k in the sunshine with my music on keeping the pace nice and easy 😊
It’s so important to mix up the sessions and to make sure that every run isn’t done at 100mph because your body just won’t recover well enough!
It’s been a very hard few months of grafting, but the end is in sight now! 💪

How to stand out on the dark country roads… 🔦
There’s no lights or pavements on my morning run route - just dark, twisty, hilly country roads.

Well back to night running after work, tonight was an a Half Easy/Half Tempo from runna_coach post half recovery plan. Really good one and manged to keep the Tempo part within the required pace.
Also with a big dark cloud on the horizon when I got in, was good time to bring out the provizsports jacket as it excellent for this time of year (wet and dark).
