Long sleeves in August - where did summer go?! A lovely little run along the roads near home once the kids were in bed, such a pretty sunset. I thought about doing some intervals, but after two weeks off from any strength training, the two sydneycummings_ sessions I’ve done this week were tough and my legs were really feeling it tonight! Let’s see how they feel in the morning! We’ve spent the day at my mum’s which has been lovely, not really doing much other than having cups of tea whilst the babe watched the men digging up my parents garden & the older two watched a film. I used to comfortably run 20km + without walking breaks. My pace used to be significantly faster, probably comfortably 1min/ km faster. But these days running is much harder. I have far less time to run and train. But tonight, when the last thing in the world I wanted to be doing at 8pm was go for a run, I managed to run 8km straight. Week 197 training with marcussladden 43.5 miles (70 kms) run this week. 20 miles (32kms) for today’s long run, managed to stay in zone 2 for 93% of it, which was probably helped by the frequent traffic light stops! Getting engrossed in an audiobook really helps on these runs when you are lacking the distractions of race day fun! Still feeling the after effects of strength training with sergiocanetefernandez on Thursday. My glutes were screaming at me for days! 😂 Now time to get ready for another busy week at work with the aim to get the training runs ticked off as planned 🤞 6 weeks until the Madrid marathon… after which I definitely want to changes things up a bit (road running is getting boring these days)!
