Product Description
Built for the long way round:If your idea of a good ride means leaving the tarmac behind, the Merida Silex 400 is built for it. It feels calm when the surface turns rough, quick enough to keep things lively, and versatile enough to carry on when the day gets longer than planned. It’s a bike for exploring, loading up, and enjoying the road less travelled.Confidence off-road:The aluminium frame pairs with a carbon fork for a balanced, sure-footed ride. Merida’s MTB-inspired geometry gives the Silex a stable, confidence-inspiring feel on loose ground, while still keeping the handling nimble. It’s the sort of setup that makes rough tracks feel more inviting, not more daunting.Ready for real adventure:This frame is designed with flexibility in mind. It has multiple bottle bosses, rack mounting points, and the option to run internal routed dropper posts and dynamo systems. The revised fork design also means you can fit a suspension fork without changing the geometry, which adds another layer of capability when the route gets more demanding.Strong, simple stopping and shiftingThe Shimano GRX groupset takes care of braking and shifting with gravel-ready control. Hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm rotors give you dependable stopping power, while the 2x10 drivetrain offers a practical spread of gears for climbs, flat sections, and loaded rides.Key Features: 6066 triple butted hydroformed aluminium frame with internal cable routingCarbon Silex II fork for a light, controlled front endMTB-inspired gravel geometry for stable, confident handlingShimano GRX 2x10 drivetrain with GRX 400 shifting and hydraulic disc brakes46-30 chainset paired with an 11-36 cassette for a useful gear rangeTubeless ready 700c wheels with Schwalbe G-One Comp 700x45C tyresRack mounting points and five sets of bottle bosses for added carrying optionsRevised fork design allows fitment of a suspension fork without affecting geometryRide it your way.
