Product Description
Silex has always celebrated the road less travelled — a bike built for adventure and camaraderie. While the new Mission platform moves Silex toward racing, the Silex 9000 stays true to confidence-inspiring off-road performance. Its second-generation frame and revised fork allow fitting a suspension fork without altering geometry, and its MTB-inspired proportions deliver nimble, stable handling on rough terrain. The model helped prove its credentials when Matej Mohoric won the 2023 Gravel World Championships just before the launch.Geometry & HandlingThe Silex adopts modern, MTB-influenced geometry with long top and head tubes paired with a short stem to enhance control off-road. That design is intended to balance responsive steering with stability at speed and when loaded for adventure.Frame, Fork & MountingThis specification features a carbon frame and full carbon fork with a tapered steerer, plus dedicated mounting points and routing for a dynamo hub. Frames include five sets of bottle bosses and can run internal routed dropper posts and dynamo systems; aluminium frames add rack mounts for extra luggage-carrying versatility.Braking & Thermal ManagementMost Silex models (except the 200) use powerful Shimano GRX hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm rotors. Calipers are flat-mount and positioned on the chainstay to better dissipate braking forces. On carbon models, calipers sit on CNC-machined aluminium Disc Cooler fins that can reduce operating temperatures by up to 35% — particularly useful when riding fully loaded.Finishing Kit & Use CaseThe build includes high-quality finishing components and wheelset aimed at long-distance gravel racing and bikepacking. Multiple mounting options for cages, bags and mudguards make the Silex 9000 well suited to both spirited gravel stages and multi-day adventures.Key Features:Drivetrain & Brakes:Shimano GRX 1 x 12 Di2 groupset paired with Shimano GRX hydraulic disc brakes (180mm rotors on Silex models except the 200).Frame & Fork:Carbon frame with full carbon fork, tapered steerer and a revised fork design that accepts a suspension fork without changing geometry.Geometry & Handling:MTB-inspired gravel proportions — long top and head tubes with a short stem — for nimble, confidence-inspiring off-road control.Mounting & Routing:Five sets of bottle bosses; internal routing for dropper posts and dynamo systems; aluminium frames include rack mounting points for expanded luggage options.Braking Placement & Cooling:Chainstay-mounted flat-mount calipers; carbon models use CNC’d aluminium Disc Cooler fins to lower brake operating temperatures by up to 35%.Wheels & Contact Points:Reynolds BL ATR carbon wheelset with Easton bars and a Prologo saddle.Adventure-Ready Versatility:Multiple mounts for cages, bags and fenders to suit racing, bikepacking and long-distance gravel riding.
