The ENVE 45 benefits from a knowledge base that has been established over more than a decade's worth of aero wheel development.To achieve the low drag and high stability performance the ENVE 45 offers, ENVE takes cues from its top of the line SES line up. This trickle down approach from ENVE's top-of-the-line products means the ENVE 45s outperform, or perform similar to, competitors' wheels that are upmarket in price.Featuring ENVE's Wide Hookless Bead technology, the ENVE 45 disperses any impact from pot holes, curbs and debris over a wide area, reducing the likelihood of pinch flats.Patented Molded Spoke and Valve Stem Hole Technology results in rims that are light and strong. Because carbon fibre gets its strength from continuous fibres, ENVE routes the fibres around the hole without cutting them, which increases the strength of each spoke hole.The new InnerdriveTM Hub features a 100% ENVE designed drive mechanism, with oversized, 42mm steel ratchets, meaning less stress on the teeth and in turn longer bearing life, better durability and less requirement for maintenance.Our road and gravel bikes come with the 60t ratchet, which engages at 6°, as standard. It offers the perfect balance between drag and engagement for drop bar applications.Should you require faster running or more effective hub engagement, though, you can opt post-market for a ratchet with a choice of three different tooth counts from 40-100, with more teeth resulting in better engagement but a higher need for maintenance.
