Merlin Cycles Ventum GS1 Red XPLR Carbon Gravel Bike - Eggplant / Large | FREE delivery over £60 & Easy Returns
Product Description
Lighter. Simpler. Sharper. The GS1 Red XPLR gravel bike is built for one thing speed. In gravel racing, speed is a constantly evolving equation. The latest generation of the GS1 meets this challenge with increased tyre clearance up to 700x56c in the front, 700x50c in the rear a lighter, stiffer frame, and an all-new aerodynamic front end. All anchored by Ventum's signature Race Geometry, a geo trusted by some of the world’s top gravel racers. Fast, but stable. Snappy, but predictable. It’s road bike speed dipped in gravel bike capability. The perfect choice for those driven to go further, faster. Don’t just ride. Ride quick. Shaped by Ventum's obsession with speed, the third generation GS1 is their clearest expression of what a gravel bike should be: simple, fast, and focused. To make it faster, Ventum increased tyre clearance, cut weight, and improved aerodynamics all without compromising the thing that matters most: handling. What didn’t change? The geometry. Ventum kept their proven Race Geometry, aggressive with a tucked rear end and stable steering. Fitting big tyres especially in the rear presents real design challenges. Many brands have compromised handling in the name of clearance. Ventum didn’t. This version of the GS1 gravel bike comes with Sram Red XPLR AXS 13-speed electronic groupset and Zipp 303 XPLR SW wheels. Complete with the Ventum CR5 one-piece gravel cockpit, it’s a race-ready machine. An All-New Front End Taking cues from the new Tempus TT bike, an hourglass head tube utilizes functional airfoils to smooth airflow over rider and bike. Because in modern gravel racing, aero matters. Ventum Race Geometry The GS1’s geometry is something Ventum hold near and dear to their hearts. Adored by their pro riders and obsessed over by engineers, it’s quick in corners yet wonderfully predictable and stable at high speeds over variable terrain. For Tyres, Bigger Is Better The GS1 takes up to 700x56c tyres in the front and 700x50c tyres in the rear — plenty big for today’s knobbier, fatter gravel tyres.
