The Garmin Varia UT800 has the option of working independently or in sync with a Garmin Edge GPS computer. When your speed varies the Varia UT800 automatically adjusts brightness providing the amount of lumens you need for up to 4 hours. How does it work? Once paired with an Edge computer with a light sensor this clever front light will react to your speed and the ride profile to automatically adjust – giving more light when you’re riding faster and less light at slower speeds to conserve energy. And of course you can control your lights yourself in the usual way - turning on and off, controlling brightness and more. The Varia UT800 features 5 light modes including high (800 lumens), medium (400 lumens), low (200 lumens), night flash (100 to 300 lumens) and day flash (more than 700 lumens) which we recommend for increased safety during daytime riding - at full power the Varia UT800 is visible in daylight from more than 1 mile (1.6 km) away. The versatile lightweight Garmin Varia UT800 front light fits to your handlebar via the Garmin out-front mount or a quarter-turn to friction mount included.
