The KMC E12 BlackTech Chain has been developed with additional safety reserves to cope with the extreme loads generated by e-bike mid-drive motors, while also performing superbly on conventional 12-speed drivetrains. Its defining feature is KMC’s proprietary BlackTech surface treatment - a two-step process in which each individual chain component is treated before assembly, then the process is repeated on the fully assembled chain, ensuring the black finish becomes an integral part of the material rather than a surface coating.
