A_ The aptly-named, Add-On Front Wheel Holder is made for exactly that purpose. Use it in place of one of your fork mounts. Q_ Can I use a tandem? A_ Yes, but there are some spacing concerns to be aware of. Tandem bikes are longer than regular bikes, so you need to have enough room on the roof of your car to accommodate the rack and the bike. Measure from the centre of your front wheel to the place where your rear wheel touches the ground, then add 12¿. If your roof isn¿t at least this long, it won¿t fit. If you drive a tiny car like the Smart Car or Fiat 500, don¿t even bother measuring because it¿s too short. The second and equally important spacing concern is making sure your chain ring doesn¿t come into contact with your roof. Cars with tops that slope a lot from front to back are not ideal. The flatter your roof is, the better.
