The Sidi Wire 2 Carbon is the perfect model to use when cycling in hot climates or racing – it’s a firm favourite with pro sprinters. It is distinguished by the top-of-the-line Vent Carbon sole and uses matte microfibre TechPro upper fabric and the Tecno-3 Closure System. he sole is handmade of 100% carbon fibre in a weave pattern, oriented at opposing angles, to maximise stiffness while allowing for a degree of flex in the toe area. This flex biomechanically relieves stress on the plantar tendon and helps to promote circulation. The sole also features a light, replaceable heel pad in polyurethane, to improve walkability. It offers not only superior power transfer, but also warm weather comfort. he sole includes a standard three-hole drilling pattern and a printed 10mm lateral and fore/aft cleat alignment scale, as well as the Look Memory Eyelet for easy cleat alignment and replacement. As the Vent name suggests, it is designed with an integrated vent that can be opened or closed for four-season comfort, with air channels for heat dissipation and air flow. For triathlon, the vent also serves as a water drain, dramatically improving foot comfort after a wet transition. our feet are further protected by the Soft Instep Closure System, a wide, anatomically curved strap that works with a thermo-formed EVA pad to distribute pressure evenly over the instep area. This is adjustable on both sides, to centre the pad over either a high or low instep with equal ease. he shoe is secured by Sidi's Tecno-3 Closure System, with one dial on the side of the shoe and one atop the tongue to ensure a secure fit, with no hot spots, while the adjustable heel eliminates heel lift. The symmetrical mechanism guarantees excellent, customised closure that will adapt to any instep. If pushed, a button added to the monofilament buckle lifts that buckle to facilitate the adjustment. eanwhile, the heel is held firmly in place, for optimal power transfer, by the Reflex Adjustable Heel Retention Device and Sidi's own Heel Cup. The latter stabilises and supports the heel, while acting to reduce slip and offer protection in the event of a crash, while the former reinforces the top of the heel cup and improves the fit by closing the back of the shoe securely.
