The Force chain is lighter, stronger and even more durable.Flattop technology creates a quieter, longer lasting chain for long rides and countless shifts. The Force chain is compatible with 12-speed road and 13-speed gravel cassettes.The SRAM HARD CHROME chain has four times the elongation (wear) resistance to other chains. This is due to the new finishing process on the inner links and rollers. Push pin strength and ultimate strength are equivalent to other chains. The HARD CHROME chain lasts longer and is just as strong.SRAM chain engineers developed PowerLock as a tool-free, sure, and consistent way to connect chains. While PowerLock does not require special tools for install, the especially tight tolerances of 10- and 11-speed drivetrains mandate that each PowerLock is good for a one-time application only.To enable X-Range gearing technology, a narrower chain was developed.
