The Enduro line of angular contact bearings begins with black oxide treated chrome steel races, next level full 440C stainless steel, and the highest range is aerospace XD-15 stainless steel (races and balls).They are always designed with the largest possible balls, feature double-lip seals mounted in a micro-groove, and are 90% filled with high-pressure waterproof grease for maximum protection against sweat and the elements.Enduro´s Angular Contact (A/C) bearings are designed so that all balls are uniformly engaged to distribute force over a larger surface area, decreasing friction, minimizing wear, and maximizing lifespan.Enduro only uses 440C stainless steel balls and races to provide a long lifespan and superior corrosion resistance in applications and environments that may be less than ideal. 440C has the highest strength, hardness, and wear resistance of all standard high-carbon 440 series stainless steel alloys. As expected, it is also the most expensive of the 440 series alloys and requires several rounds of heat treating and cryogenic treatment to achieve its superior mechanical properties.Although stainless steel has 20% less load capacity and is slightly softer than our standard 52100 chrome steel used in most of our bearings, stainless steel is an excellent alternative for use in wet conditions, if you wash your bike frequently, or where sweat may be present.Enduro Bearings also uses LLB seals and CRC Marine Grease in these bearings to further waterproof them against the elements.Black Oxide bearings receive an additional iron oxide Fe3O4 (magnetite) treatment which makes them more corrosion resistant
