The Enduro angular contact bearing line starts with black oxide treated BO chrome steel rings, next level full 440C stainless steel, and the highest range is XD-15 aerospace stainless steel (races and balls).They are always designed with the largest possible balls, feature double lip seals mounted in a micro-groove, and are filled 90% with high-pressure waterproof grease for maximum protection against sweat and the elements.Enduro´s angular contact (A/C) bearings are designed so that all balls are uniformly engaged to distribute force over a larger surface area, decreasing friction, minimizing wear, and maximizing lifespan.Enduro uses only 440C stainless steel balls and races to provide long life and superior corrosion resistance in applications and environments that may be less than ideal. 440C has the highest strength, hardness, and wear resistance of all standard high-carbon 440 series stainless steel alloys. As expected, it is also the most expensive of the 440 series alloys and requires several rounds of heat treatment and cryogenic treatment to achieve its superior mechanical properties.Although stainless steel has 20% less load capacity and is a bit softer than our standard 52100 chrome steel used in most of our bearings, stainless steel is an excellent alternative for use in wet conditions, if you wash your bike frequently, or where sweat may be present.Enduro Bearings also uses LLB seals and CRC Marine Grease in these bearings to further waterproof them against the elements.Black Oxide bearings receive an additional treatment of iron oxide Fe3O4 (magnetite) which makes them more corrosion resistant
