Specialized have measured the new Crux 5 using Forumla 1 style simulations of the lowest real-world Time to Finish for gravel races. Crux 5 turns more of your effort into pure speedvalidated across real race courses, real terrain, and real riders. When the goal is the top step, nothing in gravel gets you there faster.Toperfect the aero perfomance of the new Crux 5 the team at Specialized used parts from both the Tarmac SL8 road bike and the old Crux. From a Crux 4 with a Tarmac SL8 seat tube and seat post, to a full Tarmac SL8 rear end bonded to a Crux front triangle with a custom aero fork, Specialized were able to hybridize road-level aero gains with gravel-light weight savings. All the aero gains in the world ar eno good if you cant stay in the saddle. Subtle geo changes on the new Crux 5 deliver a more efficient pedalling position, more confident handling and the ability to run up to 55 mm or 2.2 tyres.The S-Works Crux 5 comes with all the key parts to gain the maximum aero benefit. The Crux 5 frame, fork and seatpost contribute 50% of the aero gains, the Roval Terra Aero CLX wheels add 30% and the Roval Terra handlbars another 20%.
