Our company history Since Richard Balfe opened the first shop in 2008, Balfe’s Bikes has remained an independent business run by cyclists for cyclists. Finch Cycles in Reigate is also now part of Balfe’s along with the former Pearson Cycles Sutton store and brings with it over 120 years of service to the community. We’re a group of cycling enthusiasts and professionals who, between us, have an incredible technical skills base and take our role really seriously. We are proud to do a good job and love talking about all things bike throughout the day. We currently have 12 stores across London and the South East which all started with Dulwich back in 2008. Streatham was the second store that opened in 2011, followed by a move into Surrey with Reigate opening in 2019, a handover from the legendary Finch Cycles. Fulham was our fourth store that opened in the same year, followed closely by Sutton, a handover from the famed Pearson Cycles that bring over 120 years of cycling history. Move on to 2020 and Waterloo opened, our sixth store and set on the popular Waterloo Cut. Islington followed near the end of 2020 before we kicked off 2021 with Kingston and Notting Hill opening, our eighth and ninth respective stores. In April 2021 we opened our tenth store with Balfe’s Bikes Gatwick which offers an excellent location close to Crawley and within easy reach from the M23 and M25. The second store to open in 2021 was Chiswick. Located in southwest London, our 11th store is ideally suited to service the needs of the local cycling community. Our latest store on Mare Street, Hackney, continues to offer a broad range of products. It has been an amazing journey so far and we look forward to serving our loyal customers with an expanded range of quality products and services. Products and brands We stock the world’s best bike brands and accessories with the aim to cater to any cyclist no matter the level. We are proud to stock bike brands including Trek, Giant, Specialized, Liv, Brompton, Frog Bikes and many more, plus a great range of accessories from Castelli, Lezyne, Bontrager, Endura, and Kryptonite to name just a few. With most of our stores featuring nearly 100 bikes on the shop floor and our website which has thousands of products, you can be sure to find whatever you need.
