WHO ARE WE? Saddleback is run by a team of dedicated roadies, downhillers, enduro racers, CX-ers, XC-ers, hill-climbers, trail seekers, gravel riders and triathletes - all unified by our love of performance cycling and an obsession with getting the most out of ourselves and our kit. From the excitement of unwrapping a new Gabba to the dizzy highs of conquering a classic Tour climb; slipping on a new TLD helmet to hitting the black trails at breakneck speed. We share your passion for cycling. We devour every detail of new product announcements, pore over pro team component selections and update our wish lists accordingly. We spend our days talking watts, chainring ratios and marginal gains. In short, we're as obsessed by the world's finest cycling gear as you are. Saddleback's portfolio is as prestigious as they come and every member of the team is proud to represent all of the industry-leading brands that we're lucky enough to work - and ride - with every day. Whether proven at the highest echelons of the sport or showcasing innovative, industry-leading designs, all our brands produce the finest cycling gear to tempt the most discerning road cyclists and mountain bikers. OUR HISTORY Founded by Andy and Sarah Wigmore in 2004, Saddleback's beginnings represented the culmination of a childhood dream that has since grown into one of the most esteemed names in the UK cycling industry. Named after Blencathra, one of the Lake District's most iconic mountains, Saddleback began in the box room of the Wigmores' small semi-detached house. Today, the Wigmores still run Saddleback, now from a purpose-built 40,000 square-foot facility with an ever-expanding team of over 60 staff members. As Saddleback has matured into the home of elite performance cycling products, some brands have come and gone, but we're grateful for the contribution of each on our cycling journey! Saddleback's first brand was Felt Bicycles, who signed a distribution deal over tea and biscuits in the Wigmores' front room. Felt was soon followed up by perhaps our most famous brand, Castelli Cycling, who, looking to break into the UK market, joined Saddleback in December 2006. This most prestigious Italian cycling clothier has since become one of the biggest, most recognisable cycling brands in the world. As well as growing our portfolio of brands, we've also been intimately involved in the sponsorship of teams and events. The elite Saddleback Felt MTB Race Team was created in 2006 - showing a commitment to performance cycling that continues today. In 2008, we began our partnership with the Fred Whitton Challenge, the notoriously tough sportive, which has raised well over £1 million for charity. In the same year, we also founded the Felt Road Race Team and provided neutral support for the pro peloton at the Tour of Britain, a task we also undertook in 2010 and 2011. ENVE joined us in early 2011, the proudly US-made carbon wheel and cockpit experts fitting the high-end bill perfectly. The brand was soon complemented by Chris King, which became our hub-partner for ENVE in March of the same year, allowing our expert wheel builders to create the best road and MTB wheels on the UK market. Stages Cycling joined Saddleback in September 2013, up-ending the power meter market with its simple to use, yet feature-rich designs. Used by Team Sky to secure three Tour de France victories and the GC at the Vuelta, elite performance is at the heart of the brand. Silca joined us in 2014, the brand's heirloom-quality pumps and tools a fitting fusion of Italian heritage and US engineering for our portfolio. In the same year, we sponsored UCI Continental pro team NFTO with five of our brands while two Saddleback staffers - brand director Richard Mardle and area manager Justin Hoy - also raced for the elite squad. In 2015, Sidi joined the family. Undoubtedly the most prestigious name in cycling footwear, many of the sport's greatest riders have chosen these most beautiful racing shoes over the last half-century, with Chris Froome being the latest Sidi-wearing Tour de France champion. Our push into MTB continued apace in 2016 with Intense Cycles joining the portfolio. Troy Lee Designs also became part of the Saddleback family in the same year, complementing ENVE and Chris King to give us real strength in the MTB market. PUSH was another February 2019 addition, the US brand joining Saddleback to deliver no-compromise, pro-level coil suspension to a wider audience of trail and enduro riders. In July 2019, we added Wolf Tooth to the portfolio. Another Stateside brand, Wolf Tooth hails from Minnesota, where the team's cycling-obsessed engineers create products of unrivalled quality to improve the rider experience and design ingenious solutions for the ever-changing world of cycling technology. September 2019 saw HJC helmets join Saddleback. Founded in 1971, HJC has become the world's largest moto helmet manufacturer and with its own wind-tunnel on site, the South Korean brand is uniquely placed to create outstanding cycling helmets. Another new brand addition in September 2019, Moots Cycles joined the Saddleback family, bringing the US-brand's exquisite titanium frames to a bigger UK audience. With Moots on board, we are able to offer custom builders the ultimate package – a Moots frame wrapped in ENVE, Chris King and Wolf Tooth – fit for the most discerning riders. In early 2020, Saddleback brought Sportful into the portfolio. Hailing from the Italian Dolomites, Sportful has been at the top of the cycling world since the mid-1980s and today works with Peter Sagan and Bora-Hansgrohe. The brand also has a unique style appealing to riders who ride for the sheer fun of it – from bold patterns to subtle tones. October 2021 saw Abbey Bike Tools become Saddleback’s partner. Trusted by professional and home mechanics alike, the brand’s striking green tools are designed and manufactured in Bend, Oregon, from US materials. The Abbey Bike Tools team only creates tools that improve on an existing solution, so their products feel great, do their jobs quickly and efficiently, and are devised to outlast the mechanic using them. In 2023 Saddleback partnered with Feedback Sports, whose bike stands, training rollers and tools are regularly seen at World Tour level. With a reputation for quality, lightweight and practical products, many of which have been tested by Saddleback’s staff, Feedback Sports is a natural fit within Saddleback’s portfolio of high performance cycling equipment.
