Rather than specialising purely in climbing or flat-out speed, the Xelius is designed as an all-round race bike, combining low weight, responsive handling and efficiency with enough comfort for long days in the saddle.Its carbon frame uses Lapierre's distinctive seat stay design, with the stays extending past the seat tube and joining the top tube. This leaves more of the seat tube free to flex and allows the seat stays to provide additional vertical and lateral compliance. Lapierre also uses this design to help disperse vibrations through the top tube, reducing the amount of road buzz reaching the rider without relying on additional suspension components.The frame is paired with a Lapierre UD SLI carbon fork, helping keep the front end light and precise. An integrated Acros headset and Lapierre semi-integrated UD carbon bar and stem combination create a clean cockpit, with internal routing keeping cables and hoses largely out of sight.Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 R9200 provides a 2x12-speed electronic drivetrain. Dura-Ace R9250 front and rear derailleurs are paired with ST-R9270 Dual Control levers, delivering fast and consistent electronic shifting. The two-chainring setup provides a useful spread of closely spaced ratios for climbing, racing and maintaining cadence on faster roads.A Dura-Ace R9200 crankset, CS-R9200 12-speed cassette and Shimano XTR CN-M9100 chain complete the drivetrain. Shimano's Shadow-profile rear derailleur keeps the mechanism tucked close to the bike, while the wireless connection between the shifters and central Di2 system helps reduce wiring around the cockpit.Shimano Dura-Ace R9270 hydraulic disc brakes use 160mm rotors front and rear. They provide powerful, predictable braking with plenty of modulation, helping you control speed accurately on technical descents as well as in wet or changing conditions.DT Swiss ERC 1400 Spline wheels use 35mm-deep carbon rims, giving the Xelius a versatile wheelset that balances aerodynamics with relatively low weight. Their moderate depth makes them well suited to the Xelius' all-round approach, whether you're climbing, riding rolling roads or carrying speed across flatter terrain.Continental GP5000 S TR tyres are fitted in a 25mm width. These tubeless-ready road tyres are designed to combine low rolling resistance with dependable grip, while the tubeless-compatible DT Swiss wheels give you the option of running a tubeless setup.The Lapierre carbon seatpost uses zero offset and is topped with a Prologo Dimension T4.0 saddle. Together with the frame's distinctive seat stay layout, this keeps the contact points suitably race-focused while the frame design helps manage vibration over longer rides.The Xelius DRS 9.0 brings together a versatile carbon race chassis and a high-level component package rather than focusing on one narrow area of road riding.
