With 150mm of rear travel, a 160mm fork and 29in wheels, it's designed to cover a broad range of trail riding rather than focusing solely on climbing efficiency or descending performance. That makes it suited to everything from regular local rides to longer days exploring unfamiliar trails.Its Carbon C frame uses Santa Cruz's VPP suspension system to deliver 150mm of rear-wheel travel. The twin-link layout is designed to provide an active suspension feel and plenty of traction while retaining the pedalling characteristics needed for getting back up the hill. The amount of travel gives the Hightower room to deal with rough and technical terrain without moving into the longer-travel territory of a dedicated enduro bike.Up front, a Fox 36 Float Performance fork provides 160mm of travel. Its sturdy 36mm chassis is well suited to the Hightower's trail intentions, while the air spring can be adjusted for rider weight and preference. Fox's GRIP damper provides external compression and rebound adjustment for fine-tuning the fork's behaviour.A Fox Float X Performance shock manages the rear suspension. The Float X uses a piggyback design, increasing oil volume to help manage heat during longer and rougher descents, while giving the Hightower the support needed for more demanding trail riding.The 29in wheel platform helps maintain momentum over roots, rocks and other trail obstacles. It's paired with modern trail geometry designed to balance stability when descending with manageable handling on tighter trails and enough efficiency for longer climbs.SRAM Eagle 90 Transmission provides mechanical 1x12-speed shifting. Its T-Type derailleur uses SRAM's Full Mount design and works with the frame's UDH interface, creating a robust drivetrain setup designed specifically around modern mountain bikes. A 32t chainring and wide-range 10-52t cassette provide plenty of lower gearing for steep trail climbs.The drivetrain also uses a SRAM GX Eagle T-Type Flattop chain and XS-1275 Eagle cassette, bringing components from higher in SRAM's Transmission range into the Eagle 90 build.SRAM Maven Base hydraulic disc brakes provide the stopping power.
