Its Trapeze frame provides additional standover clearance compared with a traditional diamond frame, making getting on and off the bike easier when stopping regularly around town.Cube's Aluminium Superlite frame uses double-butted tubing, varying the tube wall thickness to keep material where it's useful for strength while reducing unnecessary weight elsewhere. Carefully finished tube junctions give the frame a smooth appearance, complemented by integrated cable routing that keeps cables neatly tucked away.A Cube TK Disc C:62 full carbon fork keeps the front end simple and lightweight. Its carbon construction can also help filter some of the vibration from rougher road surfaces, while the tapered steerer and 12x100mm thru-axle provide a secure connection between the fork and front wheel.Instead of a conventional derailleur drivetrain, the Editor SLX FE uses a Shimano Alfine SG-S7001 11-speed internal gear hub. The gearing mechanism is enclosed within the rear hub, protecting it from road dirt and reducing the amount of exposed drivetrain hardware that needs regular cleaning. The Alfine hub is paired with a Gates belt drive rather than a traditional chain. Belt drives run quietly, don't require chain lubricant and need relatively little routine maintenance, making this setup particularly useful for regular commuting and year-round urban riding. The Gates S301 CDC crankset drives a durable CDX rear sprocket.Wide 55mm Schwalbe Motion Big Apple tyres provide plenty of air volume to help smooth out broken tarmac, paving and rougher cycle paths. This adds useful everyday comfort without requiring the additional weight and maintenance of a suspension fork.Shimano hydraulic disc brakes provide consistent braking in changing conditions, with 160mm rotors front and rear. Hydraulic operation gives predictable braking with relatively light lever effort, useful when navigating busy roads and frequent stop-start riding. The ACID EX25 rims are tubeless ready, providing the option of moving to a compatible tubeless tyre setup in the future. At the front, an ACID PL-7 dynamo hub generates power for the bike's lighting system as you ride, removing the need to regularly recharge separate light batteries. As an FE, or Fully Equipped, model, the Editor comes ready for practical everyday use. Cube's Semi Integrated Carrier 2.0 provides carrying capacity for compatible luggage, while full-length mudguards help keep road spray under control and a kickstand makes parking straightforward. Dynamo-powered lights complete the everyday setup. The Natural Fit Sequence saddle, 680mm Comfort Trail handlebar and 27.2mm seatpost contribute to an upright, manageable urban setup. Combined with the wide tyres, carbon fork and low-maintenance drivetrain, the Editor SLX FE Trapeze is particularly well suited to regular commuting and riders who want a practical bike that requires less day-to-day drivetrain attention.
