Rather than simply shrinking an adult bike, Cube has combined 24-inch wheels with appropriately proportioned components and suspension to give progressing young mountain bikers a bike that's easier to handle on more demanding trails.The lightweight aluminium frame uses Advanced Hydroform construction and triple-butted tubing to help balance strength and weight. Cube's ETC 4-Link suspension design provides 120mm of rear wheel travel, giving young riders extra comfort and control over roots, rocks and rough trail surfaces.Up front, the Manitou Machete J-Unit Air fork provides 120mm of travel. The J-Unit is designed specifically around younger riders, with an air spring that can be set up to suit their lighter body weight. A 15x110mm thru-axle provides a secure and stiff connection between the fork and front wheel.The rear suspension uses an SR Suntour Edge R shock, working with the frame's 120mm travel. Like the fork, the suspension setup is intended to give younger riders meaningful suspension performance rather than requiring the higher forces associated with adult-focused components.Shimano CUES provides a straightforward 1x9-speed drivetrain. The RD-U4000 rear derailleur and SL-U4010 Rapidfire Plus shifter give young riders a simple single-shifter setup, so there's no front derailleur to worry about.An 11-46T Shimano CUES cassette provides a broad spread of gears, including useful lower ratios for climbing. Cube uses a four-piston front brake with a 180mm rotor, where most braking force is required, and a two-piston rear brake with a 160mm rotor. This gives young riders controlled braking for managing speed on steeper and rougher trails.The 24-inch ACID SLX 25 wheels use thru-axles front and rear and are tubeless ready. This gives the option of converting to tubeless in the future, which can improve puncture protection and allow lower tyre pressures for additional grip and comfort.Schwalbe Hans Dampf 2.35-inch tyres provide a more aggressive trail tread than you'd typically find on a general-purpose children's mountain bike. Their added volume and grip suit the Stereo's focus on proper off-road riding, helping young riders find traction on loose, muddy and uneven terrain.The cockpit is also sized around younger riders, with a 660mm SDG Slater JR handlebar paired with a CUBE Performance stem.
