The rigid design avoids the additional weight and complexity of suspension, while the carbon construction helps keep the front of the bike light and responsive. For a young rider, that can make the bike easier to steer, manoeuvre and lift over smaller trail obstacles.The 20-inch wheels are appropriately sized for younger riders, while wide 2.25-inch Schwalbe Rocket Ron Performance tyres give the Kimu genuine mountain bike grip. Their off-road tread is suited to loose and uneven surfaces, while the extra tyre volume provides useful cushioning when riding over roots, stones and rougher tracks.A simple 1x8-speed drivetrain keeps gear selection straightforward, with a Microshift M6185 shifter controlling eight gears.
