With no front derailleur to think about, there's only one shifter to operate.An 11-40T Shimano HG400 cassette provides a broad range of gears, including useful lower ratios for tackling climbs. A single 32-tooth chainring and short 140mm Prowheel alloy cranks complete the setup, with the shorter crank length better proportioned for younger riders.Tektro HD-M276 hydraulic disc brakes provide dependable braking with 160mm rotors front and rear. Importantly for a junior bike, the brake levers use a short-reach design that makes them easier for smaller hands to reach and operate comfortably.The 26-inch alloy wheels are fitted with Kenda Booster 2.2-inch tyres. Their mountain bike tread provides grip for riding on woodland trails, gravel and other loose surfaces, while the generous width adds useful cushioning and stability.A 580mm alloy riser handlebar is paired with a 50mm stem, giving young riders a manageable cockpit for controlling the bike.
