The same spoke thread treatment used by our professional wheel builders is now available for everyone. Stan's SRD spoke powder fills the spoke threads and acts both as a lubricant during assembly and as a thread lock once built. Each bottle contains 24 g (0.8 oz) and will treat about 300 wheels. The PTFE powder in Stan's SRD spoke powder acts as a barrier, preventing the metal of the nipple from binding to the metal of the spoke and stopping the spoke from twisting during building or adjustment. By encouraging a nipple that turns more smoothly, the powder also ensures more precise and consistent wheel builds, with less "ping and pop" during and after assembly. The powder also fills the spoke threads to act as a thread lock that prevents loosening and de-tensioning, and is particularly well suited for mechanical lock nipples such as Sapim's Secure Lock.
