If your bike is equipped with a Shimano Nexus 3 speed hub with freewheel (i.e. no foot brake) where the hub type is SG-3R40 and the hub is secured with nuts, then this hub insert is an excellent replacement part fromorigine from Shimano. You should also be aware that your bike's axle length needs to be 176.8mm for you to use this effort.If problems have arisen with the operation of the sprocket hub used on the bike, it is beneficial to replace the insert assembly in that hub. It can be difficult to find the cause of a malfunction, so it can often be resolved by replacing the insert assembly. If you want to be sure that this particular unit fits your bike, you can read the type number on the hub cover and if that number appears SG-3R40, that unit fits.
