The Aspen ST (or Fastpen, as it’s sometimes known) is a new ultra-low-profile XC tyre based on the Aspen. Eagle-eyed race fans may recognize the Aspen ST tread pattern from spy shots, but it's never been publicly available until now. Designed to be even faster than its predecessor, the Aspen ST is sure to catapult you to the podium, just like it helped Nino Schurter to countless World Cup wins. The Team Spec Aspen and both versions of the Aspen ST are available in 29x2.40 and 29x2.25 options.The Aspen ST debuts a much lighter and faster 170-TPI casing and feature an exclusive Team Spec hot patch. Because these tyres are designed to be used solely in racing conditions and feature pro-level speed and rolling resistance, they aren’t suitable for the average weekend ride. An all-new MaxxSpeed compound for the Maxxis cross country (XC) line. The new MaxxSpeed uses silica as a filler in the rubber polymer creating a compound that performs better across the board compared to the old 3C MaxxSpeed. Racers benefit from reduced rolling resistance and improved wet traction.The use of three different durometers of rubber in a single tire–Maxxis’ 3C technology–set our mountain bike tires apart from the competition over the past two decades. But when it was time to develop a new topshelf XC compound, we focused on performance above a specific number of compounds.
