MAX - type bearings provide 35 - 40% more load capacity than standard radial bearings by utilizing a special design where the maximum number of balls are inserted into the bearing, via a custom ground slot in the races. The additional balls, combined with deep race grooves in these bearings providing greater lateral support for the twisting and multi - directional forces associated with mountain bike pivots.
