The upper level still performs with the same shift function, but can now swing in either direction allowing it to be released by the thumb or index finger. Optimised for one-finger braking with crisp instant shifts, the Saint Rapidfire delivers superfast shifting performance, delivering the chain to the next sprocket or ring the moment the shift is actuated with no hesitation! Shimano understand how dicey the trails can be and that you need a shifter that will respond instantly so that you can safely negotiate your way over the rough terrain, which is why they’ve kitted this shifter out with the multi-bearing design.
