The front wheel features 20 of the same spokes to keep weight low and compliance high; these wheels are great for long distance winter rides. The wide 17mm internal width of the rim is also great for larger volume 25-28c tyres.The hubs use Shimano's legendary angular contact bearings that are supremely reliable, easy to maintain and allow precision bearing adjustment to help ensure they run smoothly and drag-free. Labyrinth and contact sealing uses low-friction seals to effectively shut out water, mud and dirt as well as helping to keep the wheels feeling lively, with a fast, free-rolling nature. The freehub is compatible with 8, 9, 10 and 11-speed Shimano/Sram style cassettes, so you can be sure these will fit most road bikes.
